The Concept
The term Teras Kasi comes from the Star Wars Extended Universe. Now, that statement may put you off, make you think that,
maybe, “Teras Kasi? STAR WARS RIP OFF!”. It may cause you to not take it seriously until i have you on the ground, begging
for your life. Your mistake. That is the name’s intent. When you don’t take something seriously, you oppose it
with only part of your full capability, making it that much easier for even a novice in the art able, if quick enough, to
disable even the most formidable opponent. Teras Kasi is a very aggressive art, and relies largely on speed. It can be used
for both unarmed and melee-weapon situations. It also utilizes a well-known form of energy known as PSI, Ki, Chakra, and Chi.
All are the same. PSI is the term I prefer to use, as it is not religiously aligned, as are many of the other references.
What PSI basically is is a form of energy, that you could say is higher in the “food chain” than, say, electicity.
It can be used to do practically anything. The human subconscious has access to a pool of PSI, so all you need to do is gain
control of your subcioncious. Which is harder than it sounds. Also, the pool that the human mind has access to isn’t
terribly large. Fortunately, you have two options around this.
1. Through meditation, increase the size of your innate
pool, or, 2. Act as a funnel, drawing energy from something else and focusing at the same time.
PSI
You'll need to visit Psipog.net to learn more about PSI,(also in the links section) but to use PSI is easy
enough, just vividly visualize yourself doing whatever it is you want to do, don’t expect to get it on the first, or
even fifth try. Also- Start small! You could try for a year to move a car, and never succeed, or you could spend maybe a week
trying to move a foil pinwheel, and get results. A simple fact of the subconscious- the slightest preconceived notion can
and will make it much harder to do something that should theoretically be easy to d o. the only way around this is practice…
more on PSI and theory later. To the meat of the art… What holds it together, the phsycial techniques.

The Technique
Ready stance
No special ready stance. Teras kasi is designed to be performed from any free position. Lying down
with hands and legs tied behind you isn’t going to work very well however. (Applies to unarmed fighting mostly)
With
a melee weapon(s) in hand, the ready stance used would be dependant on the weapon being used. I strongly encourage you to
develop your own ready stance based on you and your weapon, with a bit of style thrown in.
Some thoughts on combat-
I
cannot stress enough… Be comftorble. Your movements should be fluid, moving into one another as if it was all one motion.
Practice this slowly, slywlo speeding up until you think fast enough during combat to perform this way with any combination
of moves. Moves
You should use whatever you think is best for the situation at the time… however, if you think
too slowly –OR- cannot read your opponent very well, there are a few basic moves that you should practice till they
become second nature. Remember… Speed, Fluid motions, flowing into the next..
Direct Attack
The most obvious.
Punch, Kick, Slash, Stab… Handy when your opponent’s defenses aren’t that great.
BLOCK
Probably
the most important move, if there is one. Without the ability to evade the damage your opponent is trying to deal, you will
be hopeless in a fight.
Feint
Make your opponent think you are doing one thing, He reacts, creating a hole in
his defenses. Then you take advantage of that hole. This is almost an art form within itself. A very important move to know.
Disabling
Attack
A simple move, designed to put the opponent into a position from which he cannot escape, or harm you. Common
incarnations include a head lock, twisting one or both arms behind his back, pins, and various wrestling holds.
Combo
Attack
Neccesary. Involves multiple attacks strung together smoothly, to great effect. For example, doing 8 feints
in a row would make it practically impossible for your opponent to predict when and where you are actually going to hit, so
when you do, it is devastating. Tack on a direct attack and a Disabling attack, and the fight is yours. The possibilities
for combos are endless
